Surveillance is conducted in various investigations such as Adultery, Child Custody, Worker’s Compensation
and Internal Theft. The two types of surveillance are described as “stationary” or “mobile” and can be
conducted by themselves or in conjunction with each other depending on the circumstances of each case.

Stationary surveillance usually involves the surveillance of a particular house, restaurant/bar, commercial
building or a site location such as a park. This can be accomplished with one or more investigators depending
on various aspects of the case. An investigator may be in a vehicle or on foot in the area in an attempt to
capture the best evidence for the case.

Mobile surveillance is much more complex. Most people have a pre-conceived idea from television or other
sources, of what is involved in following someone. It is not easy! There are a variety of variables that can affect
a successful mobile surveillance. It is easier to follow someone at night than during the day where someone
could easily identify a certain vehicle that is following him or her. Rush hour traffic can be particularly
difficult. Traffic control devises, such as red lights and stop signs where there is a high volume of traffic, can
make it difficult for an investigator to remain with the person being followed. Other factors, such as the
driver’s habits of speeding or making illegal turns can add to the complexity of mobile surveillance.

For these reasons, the majority of mobile surveillances are conducted with a minimum of two investigators in
separate vehicles. In some instances, additional investigators would be required. Although multiple
investigators can minimize the risk of losing the person being followed, certain events may arise where the
subject could be lost.

Domestic Investigations

Boone Investigative Services can assist you in your various needs involving Domestic Investigations. If you
have concerns regarding a cheating spouse or significant other, child custody issues or assistance in locating a
relative, we have the experience and resources to complete the assignment. Our goal is to provide you with the
information and/or evidence needed to successfully complete your case.

In cases of Adultery/Infidelity as well as Child Custody Investigation, you will be informed of the type of
evidence needed to present a strong case on your behalf. We will work directly with you or with your attorney
if you are represented. We will work closely with you to develop a strategy to best accomplish your needs and
keep you informed throughout the investigation. We provide detailed reports and attempt to include
photographic evidence whenever possible.

Workers Compensation

Boone Investigative Services understands the high cost of Insurance Premiums due to the increase of
fraudulent claims. In order to help keep these costs under control, a proactive approach by companies, is
needed to combat this growing problem. We at Boone Investigative Services can provide you with the evidence
needed to determine whether fraud is occurring.

Boone Investigative Services uses undercover investigators in covert vehicles to obtain video evidence of
employees who are reportedly limited by medical conditions. These investigations may be limited to stationary
surveillance at a subject’s residence in an attempt to capture video evidence of physical activity around the
house. Mobile surveillance may be appropriate, in certain cases, which may involve following a subject to their
new job site, sporting activities or just shopping at the grocery store. We attempt to determine whether the
physical impairment and limitations an employee has reported, are in fact, valid.

After each case, a detailed report is completed which will describe our findings and when available, photographs
and video will be included.

Retail Loss Prevention

Within the Retail Industry, shrink is a primary concern for most businesses. Industry standards indicate that
forty-eight percent of all losses are caused by internal theft. If you suspect you may be the victim of internal
theft, or already know that you are, we can aid you in the investigation and recovery of your assets.

We will conduct a thorough investigation into the loss, as well as interviewing all associates to determine if
they have any guilty knowledge of the losses. Additionally, through our written report, we will identify any
policy or procedural failures, which may have contributed to the dishonest acts.

We will conduct an in-depth training awareness seminar with your associates to educate them on the

The four-hour seminar will cover how shrink affects your business, the causes and how your associates can
help minimize these losses. This will aid in the overall reduction of the company shrink, as well as help build
the morale of the associates who are concerned about the company and its profits.

Seminar Costs:

1 to 5   associates:           $150.00 per person ($150-$750)

6 to 9   associates:           $125.00 per person ($750-$1125)

10 or more associates:     $100.00 per person     ($1000 +)

Pre-Employment Interviews

One of the most important things any company can do to help reduce shrink within their organization is to
ensure a thorough interview is conducted with all prospective applicants. Most organizations have numerous
employees who interview applicants, but are they doing adequate job? Do they ask the right questions? Do they
know how to determine if the applicant is practicing deception?

This seminar will train each associate who is tasked with conducting an interview, the skills necessary to
pre-screen all applicants with respect to background information, prior employment, etc. to determine if this
applicant will be right for your company. Additionally, this will reduce the expense you will incur conducting
background checks on prospective employees who provide negative information, which would disqualify them
from employment.
